Visiting Richard Nixon’s Grave at His Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California
Just steps away from the house where he was born, Richard Nixon rests beside his wife Pat on the grounds of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.
The gravesite is simple—black stone markers surround a small garden area. It’s quiet. Reflective. Personal.
Visiting President Nixon’s Grave
After touring the museum’s exhibits on his rise from a modest upbringing to the presidency—and the shadow of Watergate—you step outside and the tone shifts. Politics fades. History feels human.
Born in 1913 in this small Orange County town, Nixon became the 37th president, reshaping foreign policy with his opening to China and détente with the Soviet Union. His presidency ended in resignation in 1974 amid the Watergate scandal—the only U.S. president to resign from office. Yet his legacy remains complex, layered, and still debated.
Standing at his grave is a great place to reflect on Nixon’s complex legacy.
